Some of you may wonder why
...Madeleine does not like to paint blue skies and hasn’t really done throughout her career. When you see the dramatic skies and colour combinations of clouds emanating during approaching weather changes - mostly for the worse - you will understand why. During our 80 NM sail from Vaasa to Kristinaankaupunki (easier Kristinestad) we have experienced this kaleidoscope, pictured below.

And as expected the stormy weather arrived and we spent 2 day in this lovely ‘wooden town’. It has been one of the few towns which has not burnt down. In the 18th century it was the centre of the tar export to Britain and major harbour for the salt import.
