Easy Rider towards to the far North of the Baltic Sea

21st of May

SOME or many of you will agree that preparing for holidays is so stressful that you need the break to recover from the preparations…

This year was no exception. Within the last three weeks before departure Madeleine had a successful exhibition in Switzerland, I had to travel abroad and in the UK and we were delighted to ‘baby sit’ for our lovely grandchildren Lily and Ivy until the evening before we set off on our 2000km trip by car to Nynäsham, near Stockholm were we left Easy Rider over the winter.

Coming out of hibernation

23rd  of May

ER is gently pulled out of hibernation recovering from a very severe winter with temperatures of minus 25ºC inside the boat. So far we have discovered no breakages but we will find out tomorrow when we will start to test all systems and to step up the mast.

Close, but not too close..

Ulf’s father is an amazingly skilled driver of anything that moves and has until now not once put the trailer into the harbour and has launched Easy Rider single handed today. When you look at the wheels at the edges of the launching pit, you will understand what I mean.

After fixing of a little leak from the engine water intake valve, everything seems to be dry and working. Testing has been delayed for a day. We used this time to replace the starter battery, which had died a slow death over several years of unfaltering service.
