25th - 29th of June
Those who are responsible for the weather must have read our blog, because the wind changed favourably to the south - although at time stronger then we would have liked. Because we are now ‘sandwiched’ in a ridge of high pressure between several lows nearby, the Norwegians, Swedes and Finns had difficulties in agreeing the forecast. We had a choice between a wind forecasts of 2 Bft to 6-7 Bft, all for the Bay of Bothnia on the same day. At least we made great progress, not always comfortably, in strong winds.
Beautiful sheltered and interesting little harbours and anchorages rewarded us for our efforts. A kaleidoscope of impressions from these places is following below.
